Music Event

I photographed a high-energy music event in a dark venue, using flash and black-and-white edits to capture the personality of the crowd, the rhythm of the night, and the rawness of live performance.

Event Photography – Flash Portraits & Candid Energy

This photo series captures an intimate underground music event in a low-light venue. My focus was on documenting the raw energy of the night through direct flash, high-contrast black-and-white edits, and close-up compositions that highlight the personality of the crowd and performers.

Shot on a Canon EOS 200D II, the images were edited to emphasise texture, mood, and immediacy—reflecting the gritty, unfiltered atmosphere of the space.

Photography Approach

This project was all about energy and proximity. I stayed close to the action, using flash to cut through the darkness and capture expressive, in-the-moment shots. The goal was to create a photojournalistic-style set that felt immersive, raw, and honest.

The black-and-white edit strips distractions away and draws focus to emotion, contrast, and detail—sweat, movement, and expression become the focal point.
